A tongue in-cheek homage to Oakleigh’s café civilization turned heads astatine Eaton Mall this week, arsenic members of the Monash Hellenic Students’ Society dressed arsenic “pappoudes” (grandpas), implicit with level caps, canes and copies of Neos Kosmos, to movie a promotional reel for their yearly Tavern Night.
The students staged the sprout among the mall’s tables and umbrellas, play-acting the acquainted banter of Greek grandfathers while spruiking tickets to the society’s biggest κοινωνικά of the year.
