The Greek authorities is readying to tighten the oversight and backing model for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) moving connected migration issues, Migration and Asylum Minister Thanos Plevris has announced.
The determination comes arsenic the authorities revealed that much than €175 cardinal has been allocated to NGOs done the E.U.'s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF) for the 2021–2027 period.
Mr. Plevris said that each 26 large organizations receiving funds are registered with the ministry and are taxable to stringent fiscal audits and on-site inspections.
He emphasized the government's committedness to enhancing compliance measures to guarantee transparency and accountability.
Among the well-known beneficiaries of the backing are the NGOs PRAKSIS (€7.22 million), Solidarity Now (€2.09 million), ARSIS (€22.48 million), and the Hellenic Red Cross (€7.6 million)
